The FHS-TV Studio
The FHS-TV studio is brand new as part of the recent $60 million renovation of Framingham High School. The new FHS-TV studio is located in spacious J007, far from the old studio in "H" hall.
The new studio has three JVC KY-19 3CCD cameras, a Panasonic AG-MX-80
digital video mixer, a GlobalStreams Trinity 2.4 and a Mackie 16-channel
audio mixer.
FHS-TV's in-studio video signal is distributed throughout Framingham via
Comcast over a standard RF cable modulation, and via RCN over a dual
channel fiber-optic signal. FHS-TV reaches an estimated 19,500
households within the town.
TV1 and TV2 Students edit video packages together on five Dell Computers
running "Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus", While TV3 Students Have access to one
Apple G4 running Final Cut Pro, and two Apple G5 imac's running "Final
Cut Studio Pro." Advanced students also have the opertunity to learn and use
Avid Media Compser Adrenalin.
Students use Panasonic, Sony, and Canon handheld cameras to shoot packages
for broadcast. The studio also has linear S-VHS edit decks as well as
DVD authoring capabilities. The FHS-TV department includes the FHS-TV
studio, the control room, the television production classroom, a digital edit lab,
and the offices of Mr. Devlen and Mr. Shifman.
